On May 14, a delegation led by Fan Ruiping, a member of Standing Committee of and Director of Organization Department of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, and Dai Yunkang, Vice-director of Organization Department of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, visited and surveyed Chengdu Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to “Chengdu Branch”), accompanied by Zhang Yudong, President of the Chengdu Branch and the Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wang Xueding, Party Secretary and Executive Vice-president of Chengdu Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In the State Key Laboratory of Optical Technologies for Micro Fabrication and the Key Laboratory of Adaptive Optics of the Institute of Optics and Electronics, Fan Ruiping was debriefed about the scientific researches of Zhang Yudong and Luo Xiangang, a researcher and a candidate selected in national “Ten Thousand Talent Program”. In Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Fan heard the report on the latest achievements of Tang Zhuo, a researcher and a candidate selected in national “Ten Thousand Talent Program”, on diagnostic kit. In the Key Laboratory of Mountain Hazards and Earth Surface Processes of the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS, he also carefully listened to the report about the significant contributions of the Institute to the prevention and control of mountain hazards as introduced by Cui Peng, an academician from Chinese Academy of Sciences. In Chengdu Information Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences Co., Ltd., Mr. Fan spoke highly of the great contributions to the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference by the meeting voting system research team.

At the work report meeting of Chengdu Branch, Wang Xueding briefed about its efforts in research team building since the “12th Five-Year Plan” as well as its achievements in scientific cooperation with the provincial government. He hoped the Organization Department of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee to continue to pay attention to and support the research team building of Chengdu Branch; further give play to the role of experts from Chinese Academy of Sciences in participating in management of governmental affairs and offering advice and suggestions; recommend and select excellent talents of Chengdu Branch for local authorities; strengthen the work of appointing members of Chinese Academy of Sciences to fill in deputy positions in charge of scientific matters in Sichuan; support the “new park” issues restricting the development of Chengdu Branch, etc.

Mr. Fan placed a high value on the important contributions that Chengdu Branch has made to the development of Sichuan for a long time. He said that, Chengdu Branch, a local office of Chinese Academy of Sciences, actively integrated the strength of whole Chinese Academy of Sciences to serve the economic and social development demand of Sichuan, and played an important role in the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy of Sichuan. He also stated that it’s required to further emancipate the mind, innovate and keep forging ahead for purpose of innovation-driven development strategy; and it’s also required to further study whether scientific achievements can be locally transformed to productivity and what obstacles are there in aspect of system and mechanism.

Mr. Fan stressed that Sichuan Province and the Chengdu Branch should attach importance to the consistence of talent policies and the adoption of various talent supporting policies; for intensive talents in Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sichuan Province shall support the introduction and training of such talents; Sichuan Province and the Chengdu Branch shall further strengthen the talent exchange and cooperation and welcome and recommend excellent talents to take office locally. For the issues of new park, he advised to attach importance to top-level design and report to leaders of Sichuan Province and the Chengdu Branch for promotion as soon as possible.

Zhang Yudong stressed that the Chengdu Branch will, based on the innovation-driven development strategy of Sichuan Province, further emancipate mind, sort through thoughts, and attract relevant organs of Chengdu Branch, to provide more talents and scientific achievements for the economic and social development of Sichuan.
