On July 13th, Peng Yuxing, party secretary of Mianyang, visited Bai Chunli, president of Chinese Academy of Science, and SHI Er-Wei, vice president of Chinese Academy of Science, to jointly promoted the construction of the science and technology city and achieve new breakthroughs. Wang Keqiang, chief-of-staff of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yan Qing, director of bureau of science and technology for development Chinese academy of sciences, Chen Feng, vice president of Chengdu Branch, Xie Xiaodong, deputy mayor of Mianyang, attended the meeting. 

　　Peng Yuxing thanked CAS concerning the support for the development of Mianyang and the construction of the science and technology city. He said that in recent years, CAS and Mianyang had cooperated in many fields, which provided important support to promote scientific and technological innovation in the development of the city. He said, Mianyang will provide better conditions and service to the projects of CAS in Mianyang. 

　　Shi Er-Wei indicated that CAS will provide professional opinions and suggestions which will be based on the needs of economic and social development of Mianyang for its city construction. Mianyang is an important development and cooperation area to CAS. CAS must gather strength to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Mianyang. 

　　Bai Chunli and Peng Yuxing had a brief conversation before the meeting. Bai said, the cooperation with local government is always an important part of work for CAS. Mianyang science and technology city provides a very important stage to CAS. Thus CAS will fully support the construction of Mianyang science and technology city.
